I recently wrote an op-ed for the Grand Rapids Business Journal about how successful power players wreck their lives.
They date attractive partners. They buy and sell companies. They drive luxury cars. They feel horribly depressed.
Why?
Beliefs they adopted between 6 and 10 years old dominate their minds. A parent told them they weren’t smart. A teacher moved them to the back of the class. A bully humiliated them at school.
They don’t feel as though they deserve how much they earned in life. They drink and take prescription drugs to numb their feelings.
Sound familiar?
It’s all in your head. You can own and exercise your mind. You can end the persistent stress over unchangeable past events or anxiety over a future that never happens.
It’s one change that frees you from a role others placed on you. It enables you to build mental strength for the peace of mind you need to enjoy everything you’ve worked so hard to earn.
